Commercial Vehicle Telematics

Telematics is a critical enabler for fleet owners to achieve greater operational efficiencies, improve driver safety and satisfaction, and optimize customer service. Additional stakeholders like governments (through mandates) and truck manufacturers (through OEM telematics) are also starting to consider telematics as a strategic tool to achieve their respective objectives of public safety and product quality objectives. With the emergence of various forms of automation, from ADAS and active safety to truck platooning and autonomous trucks, the role of the truck driver is expected to gradually evolve to more like an office worker actively cooperating with the back office fleet operation center.

Amidst fast technological change (SaaS platforms, adoption of smartphones and tablets, and analytics approaches) and strong international growth, the transportation and logistics vertical is set for continued expansion but is also facing increasing consolidation in order to achieve economies of scale and adopt new business models.
