SMARTRAC was awarded first position in ABI Research’s Government and Healthcare Identity Inlays Competitive Assessment edging out HID Global in second place and ASK in third. The assessment incorporated inlay market shares alongside a vendor matrix which scrutinized the top inlay vendors against a set of criteria related to Innovation and Implementation.
SMARTRAC’s first placed position was a result of its impressive market influence--supported by a strong partner list built over several years which includes some of the leading vendors active within the government ID market. Its broad product portfolio, and PRELAM technology, has won the company many national ID and e-passport projects worldwide.
Although HID Global narrowly missed out on the first position ranking, it impressed on the innovation side with a clear grasp and future strategy targeting the enablement of market convergence and multi-application.
ASK, in third position, was heavily active within the e-passport inlay market, and kept with its strength in transportation and contactless ticketing. A future focus on addressing other credential types and e-government enablement will further strengthen ASK’s position within the government ID inlay market.
