Get The ReportSustainability software is becoming a key focus for supply chains
Supply chain management applications are evolving to include more dedicated sustainability features. Traditionally, supply chain management software has focused on enhancing aspects across the entire supply chain ecosystem, including purchasing, inventory management, logistics optimization, and production, to cut costs, accelerate time to market, and improve product quality. Over the last few years, however, sustainability has become an intrinsic characteristic of the modern supply chain. Consequently, supply chain software tools have evolved to integrate new sustainability-orientated features, including ESG reporting, sustainable procurement, supplier performance monitoring, and risk management tools.
ABI Research forecasts the supply chain sustainability software market to grow at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 15.2% between 2024 and 2030, more than doubling from a US$5.2 billion value to a US$12.2 billion value. Carbon accounting/reporting is and will continue to be the biggest investment area for supply chains looking to decarbonize operations, accounting for 41% of the total market.
