Get The ReportCurrently, 85% of commercial buildings operate with little or no assistance from building automation and digital systems. While building autonomy is not a destination but a journey for the project team to adopt a holistic data management plan, and define elements to optimize operation, remote monitoring, and reduce downtime.
In 2024, 12 million buildings, representing 15% of the total commercial building stock, had at least one smart building tool in operation. By 2030, ABI Research forecasts 28.7 million buildings to be on the path to automation, representing 23% of all commercial buildings.
In 2024, North America and Western Europe together had 4.85 million automated buildings, representing less than 25% of all commercial buildings. In Asia Pacific and ROW, 12% and 7.5% of the commercial building stock respectively is digitalized.
By 2030, Asia Pacific and the Rest of the World together is forecasted to boast over 15 million automated buildings, representing 66% of all automated buildings globally.
