BT Conferencing Beats Glowpoint and AT&T to Top of New ABI Research Telepresence Managed Service Providers Matrix
BT Conferencing has been ranked at the top of the latest Telepresence and Videoconferencing Managed Service Providers Matrix released by ABI Research.
Glowpoint and AT&T claimed the second and third spots in the company’s new evaluation of worldwide telepresence and videoconferencing managed service providers.
The Vendor Matrix is an analytical tool developed by ABI Research to provide a clear understanding of vendors’ positions in specific markets. Vendors are assessed on the important parameters of “innovation” and “implementation” across several criteria unique to each matrix.
According to senior analyst Subha Rama, “BT Conferencing combines its capabilities in network provisioning and management, and in telepresence managed services, to deliver a compelling value-proposition to enterprises looking to deploy pervasive video. The Wire One acquisition and the synergies with BT Global Services have helped build a comprehensive services portfolio.”
“Second-ranked Glowpoint is one of the few managed services providers that have been laser-focused on videoconferencing and telepresence managed services,” adds Practice Director Dan Shey. “AT&T, focusing on high-end telepresence and HD video, has been reporting key customer wins.”
For this particular matrix, under "innovation," ABI Research examined the scope of providers’ offerings and their service innovation (measured by specialization, partnerships and more). Also considered: the scalability and flexibility of the services offered, the providers’ application and vertical market leadership, overall strategy, vision and approach, industry leadership and influence, and their focus and capabilities in developing and integrating new service areas.
Under "implementation," ABI Research scrutinized the following criteria: the breadth and strength of services offered in the markets served or targeted; integration and support; installed base and deployments; geographic presence and penetration; overall solutions excellence, partnering and collaboration, along with the partner ecosystem, and perceived overall market leadership, strength and experience.
