According to ABI Research, the number of Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN)-connected devices in Asia-Pacific is forecast to increase from 12.24 million in 2025 to more than 103 million by 2035, representing a 22.5% Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR). Proprietary protocols currently account for 61% of NTN-connected devices in the region, but their share is expected to decline to 15.5% by 2035 as standardized alternatives gain traction. Although New Radio (NR)-NTN is not yet commercially deployed, it is projected to account for 40% of NTN-connected devices by the end of the forecast period, making it the leading protocol.
