Across the region, fixed land applications are expected to dominate most of the satellite broadband connections, with satellite broadband Wi-Fi hotspot services—where a single terminal is used to provide satellite broadband data to many end users—being a popular option for connecting underserved areas.
Beyond fixed land applications, mobile land applications are also expected to exhibit strong growth. One of the key driving factors for this is the use of portable satellite connectivity for remote and emergency operations. For example, in October 2024, the Philippines government has partnered with Kacific to deploy the latter’s CommsBox solution across all 17 regions in the Philippines for disaster and emergency communications.
