As the chart above shows, ABI Research forecasts that, by 2027, more than 18 million small cells will be shipped for enterprise connectivity. The number of Open RAN small cell shipments in all enterprise verticals combined will grow from nearly zero deployments in 2022 to just over 8 million in 2027. The number of small cells deployed for enterprise connectivity based on traditional RAN will increase at a much slower rate, surpassing 10 million shipments by 2027, from almost 8 million shipments in 2023.
