In 2026, ABI Research forecasts 136,388 renewable energy sites worldwide. Regionally, this outlook is broken down by: Asia-Pacific (59,408 sites), Europe (35,266 sites), Latin America (29,886 sites), North America (9,416 sites), and the Middle East & Africa (2,412 sites). 

Hydro power is currently the most common renewable energy source site, accounting for almost half of total deployments. Wind farms are in a distant second, followed by Bioenergy and solar. Nuclear and geothermal energy sources hold strong sustainability promises, but remain rare globally.
