NEWSMachineMetrics Debuts MaximaOS at IMTS 2026 |
MachineMetrics did not waste time at IMTS 2026, debuting its new MaximaOS solution at the very beginning of the show’s first day. MaximaOS runs on Max AI, the company’s proprietary intelligence layer. The goal is to utilize this common (artificial) intelligence to bridge connectivity, plugging gaps from machine operation, operator action, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to fully capture what is happening on the factory floor in near-real time.
Basic built-in features include downtime tracking, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), schedule intelligence, and work order management. Users can also use MachineMetrics’ Carbide User Interface (UI) to create no-code applications from plain language input. Carbide is available in early release with Model Context Protocol (MCP) server access and a pre-established library of manufacturing UI components, with the goal of empowering customization for those that want it without forcing every customer to commit to building their own no-code Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).

Traditional Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions are not fast when it comes to detecting, analyzing, and recommending solutions to respond to unexpected downtime, slow cycles, or quality inconsistencies. First, the problem needs to be detected—with many manufacturing operations still requiring manual or operator detection. Then, the data are submitted to an authorized party that can investigate, a process that often takes weeks, if not longer. By the time a recommended action is produced, it is likely the issue has either been resolved in an inefficient way, compounded, or changed all together.
MachineMetrics sees an opening to differentiate itself through a reactive, responsive product, one that takes acting on MES data from reading a newspaper to catching a breaking story on social media. AI deepens the capability set, forming a platform that isn’t just constantly communicating, but one where users can create custom fixes, including new apps, without having to code their own solutions. Every innovation the company announced ties back to a core MES value driver: time to value.

MachineMetrics is not the first MES (or MES-adjacent) provider to tackle delayed downtime response. A key aspect of Tulip Interfaces’ value proposition follows the same logic: get the right user the right information so they can enact a rapid but accurate fix. Epsilon3’s solution also eliminates the need for manual data entry, prioritizing a data overlay that allows clients to see and react in near-real time to what is happening within their manufacturing processes.
Its solution, however, is a compelling mix of features all joined by an Artificial Intelligence (AI) layer that provides context and value. Like many newer vendors in the MES space, MachineMetrics is less concerned about adhering to MESA-11 principles than delivering a solution its customers actually want. This is driven home by its attempt to Goldilocks app building: customers can go no-code or have MachineMetrics integrators handle all application creation—it depends on the client and on the need.
For competitors reading this announcement, think about time to value and how best to achieve it. Disruption in MES is not just coming from overly sophisticated AI, but from implementations such as this one that reduce either initial implementation value or, once installed, allow the factory floor to react quickly to changing conditions. Organizations such as MachineMetrics, Tulip Interfaces, and Epsilon3 are pushing this differentiation and setting a new standard: static MES solutions need to upgrade to keep up.
