Pete Rumpel joins ABI Research as Chief Sales Officer. Pete has an extensive background in the Technology Research Advisory industry including serving as Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing at the Yankee Group and Vice President Sales at Gartner Inc. His most recent roles included Vice President Business Development for SciQuest, a publicly traded cloud-based software company. General Manager Enterprise Division for Rafter, a private cloud-based software company based in San Mateo CA where Rumpel lead his Division from $4 million to $16 million in 2 years. Prior to Rafter he served as Senior Vice President, Global Enterprise and Education Group (GEEG) for Rosetta Stone. Over a thirty month period, Rumpel led the Group’s growth from $30 million to over $60 million in annual sales and successfully penetrated new markets in Asia, Europe and Latin America. He was instrumental professionalizing Rosetta Stone’s business and leading the transition of the Group from a private to public entity. He regularly presented and participated in Investor conferences, Analyst meetings and all Board meetings.
Prior to joining Rosetta Stone, Pete was Global Vice President and leader of SAP Americas Business Development. Pete spent the first seven years of his career at Pitney Bowes Inc. where he won numerous sales and sales management awards including earning the distinction of being a three time Pitney Bowes Pacemaker award winner (the highest sales achievement award) as both a sales representative and a field sales manager. Pete holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Fairfield University.
