Jiancao is a Senior Analyst in the 5G & Mobile Network Infrastructure Markets practice at ABI Research where he provides research and market analysis on 5G digital transformation and radio access network infrastructure. Research topics include radio access related wireless technologies, such as massive MIMO, RAN virtualization, cooperative communications, full-duplex, fixed wireless access, millimeter-wave, and 5G.
Prior to joining ABI Research, Jiancao was a research associate with King's College, London working on 5G and advanced wireless technologies for systems beyond 5G. Prior to King’s College, Jiancao was a post-doctoral research fellow at the University of Surrey, where he had been heavily involved in several EU FP-7 and UK 5G projects.
Jiancao also has several academic publications in most respected IEEE transactions journals on wireless communications and 5G related topics. He also served as a TPC member for IEEE flagship conferences and a reviewer for several IEEE top-tier journals.

Jiancao holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Surrey, and a M.Sc. with Distinction in Radio Frequency Communications from the University of Southampton.
