What's New ?

1) MD-ICM-104 is the fourth edition of this products and contains information on 1,489 Internet of Things (IoT) cellular modules models from 53 vendors. Previously, this was a count of 54 vendors, but since then, Telit and Thales have become one, now known as Telit Cinterion. This edition has seen 222 modules added to the portfolio across all vendors. Though 5G is still not at its prime for the IoT, it is growing, and the total number of 5G IoT module models logged has increased from 97 to 149.

2) This edition publishes further module certification information. In addition to the two certification bodies and North American carriers, this edition sees the certification information from both Orange and Deutsche Telekom being collected.

3) In an addition to the previous edition’s efforts, “smart” modules are now accounting for 141 of the module entries, an increase of 69. The trend of Android and Qualcomm being the dominant primary OS and AP manufacturers continues.

4) Modem chipset manufacturer and modem chipset information continues to be collected and expanded across all module models. Manufacturer information exists for 834 modules and chipset model information for 795 models. A further 51 modules contain a Qualcomm chipset, bringing the total to 581, which is 70% of all those identified, and 39% of all module models logged so far.

5) 4G continues to be the most-commonly supported technology, boasting more than 860 models, or 58% of all those logged.
