UnitedHealthcare Brings Fitbit into its Motion Wellness Program

UnitedHealthcare and Qualcomm Life announced plans to expand and enhance the UnitedHealthcare Motion, an employee health and wellness program that includes activity trackers. Employees with employer-provided insurance plans who take part in the program can earn up to US$1,500 per year in premium reductions if they meet certain daily step goals. The expansion will see the program available in more states, increasing from the original 12 to 40. Additional devices will be included such as the Fitbit Charge 2 within a bring your own device model.
