Qualcomm to Acquire NXP – Driven by Auto & IoT

Qualcomm agreed to purchase NXP for a record US$39 billion ($47 billion with debt), the largest deal in semiconductor history and the second largest in the tech industry. This comes a mere 10 months after NXP acquired Freescale, a Motorola spin-off with expertise in automotive and IoT.
