adidas Chases Rivals with Runtastic Acquisition to Bolster miCoach

adidas paid US$280 million last week to acquire Austrian fitness app company Runtastic in a bid to invigorate its miCoach sports and fitness tracking line. adidas’s ability to build on and integrate the Runtastic user base into its wider offerings will increasingly determine the company’s competitive position in the current market.
