IBM Introduces Watson Analytics: Predictive and Self-service Analytics Tools


IBM has announced Watson Analytics, a new iteration of the company’s natural language-based cognitive service designed to provide businesses with instant access to powerful predictive and visual analytics tools. Running on both PC and mobile device platforms, Watson Analytics offers self-service analytics including data refinement and data warehousing services.

The IBM service automates data preparation, predictive analysis, and visualization for business professionals in data-intensive areas such as marketing, sales, operations, finance, and human resources.

Analytics tools are only used by a small fraction of business people as part of their decision making today. Watson Analytics aims to make advanced and predictive analytics easy to acquire and use, thus extending their adoption beyond dedicated data scientists or analysts.
