Netflix Launched in Six European Countries
On September 19, 2014, OTT service provider Netflix announced the launch of its service in Belgium and Luxembourg. This announcement marks Netflix’s presence in six European countries in one week.
Prior to this announcement, Netflix announced its service launch in Switzerland. The company also signed a partnership agreement with German telco Deutsche Telekom in order to distribute its video service. According to their partnership agreement, Netflix’s service will be available on Deutsche Telekom’s IPTV platform. Deutsche Telekom’s IPTV customers will be able to access Netflix’s shows, which have not aired in Germany before, as well as access a wide range of movies available on Netflix’s platform.
