Intel Adds to Telecom IP Portfolio


Last week Intel announced that it had acquired more than 1,400 patents and patent applications from the bankrupt Powerwave Technologies. Intel has not disclosed the value of this transaction. The company acquired the patents from a private equity company, which had acquired them from Powerwave when it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January 2014.
