Samsung/Google Shed Light on “KNOX Contribution”


Back at Google’s I/O conference in June 2014, it was announced that KNOX would contribute to Android’s next OS version “L.” A month later, both Google and Samsung revealed in more detail exactly what is being contributed from Samsung KNOX to Google Android for Work. In short, KNOX features above the hardware level will be incorporated into Android; these features include security enhancements for Android, KNOX Framework, and data separation technology from the KNOX container. Hardware components such as TrustZone Integrity Measurement Architecture (TIMA), Trusted Boot, and Government-certified KNOX components will remain specific to Samsung.
