Pay TV Operator Over-the-top (OTT) Services

OTT services have risen in popularity, making up 14% of the video market in 2019. With pay TV services seeing climbing churn rates and higher costs, many operators are turning to OTT technology to supplement their pay TV offerings. Standalone OTT, new STB technology rollouts, reselling third party OTT services, and enhancing multiscreen functionality are promising areas for investment. When faced with the decision to invest in OTT technology, or focus on current pay TV offerings, operators need to consider the likelihood of lowered churn and increased revenues stemming from the new services.
