Ericsson Fires Up the Grill with Smoking Hot LTE Carrier Aggregation


LTE-A demos and claims mark the bleeding edge of news in telecom thus far in 2014. There are many new features and technologies in LTE-A (3GPP R12) that help operators deliver faster, better, and cheaper mobile broadband. LTE-A carrier aggregation grabs the headline, following the marketing adage, “Sell the sizzle, not the steak.” All infrastructure vendors demonstrate impressive peak data rates with carrier aggregation, but in its 2Q 2014 quarterly update, Ericsson’s radio business unit opened its cookbook and shared its smoking-hot recipe for carrier aggregation and what that brings to the 4G cookout.
