Smart Audio Device Market Heats Up with In-ear Heart Rate Monitor
SMS Audio and Intel have partnered to launch a pair of audio headphones for the sports and fitness audience that incorporate a heart rate monitor.
Funded in 2012 and focused on audio headphone and earbud products, SMS Audio is led by a star-studded roster of entertainment and sports names. Recording artist Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is majority shareholder and CEO of the company. Music producer Timothy “Timbaland” Mosely joined SMS as an investor in 2013. New York Knicks basketball star Carmelo Anthony is both an investor and the face of the SMS Audio Sport line where the product announcement is initially placed.
