Tesla Restructures Fremont Manufacturing Facility


Electric car manufacturer Tesla Motors shut down its Fremont California assembly plant on July 21, 2014, to reconfigure the factory floor and install 25 new robotics systems. Tesla will spend approximately two weeks upgrading the company’s body assembly line so that it can increase the manufacture rate of the Model S sedan and prepare for the production of the Model X crossover. Production was expected to resume on August 5, 2014.
