Toyota recently announced the successor of its long-standing G-Book telematics service in Japan. T-Connect will become available in the next months and offers a range of new features and services, next to a companion navigation system:

  • “Agent” Interactive Voice Response Service: This replaces the G-Book human concierge service through the use of automated natural language speech technology for complex queries about locations, news, and vehicle usage, including predictive information on stores and events based on learnt preferences and behavior and routing information. If needed, access to a live operator is still available. The Agent service is also available via the T-Connect smartphone application when outside the car.
  • “Online Care” Service: This includes emergency call services, map updates, and traffic information services, which ...
