LTE-U to Be Debated Again This June


Since its introduction by Qualcomm in December last year, LTE Unlicensed (LTE-U) has been generating discussions within the mobile network industry. The topic had been visited in the last 3GPP plenary meeting in March this year and created a heated debate of mixed views from opposers and supporters. This led to another dedicated workshop to be held on June 13 with 91 participants from lead operators, vendors, and industry groups to attempt to answer remaining questions and create a road map for the technology in 3GPP future work.
