Ericsson Signs Con Edison of New York to 6-year Managed Services Deal

On May 6, 2014, Ericsson announced that it had signed Con Edison of New York to a manage services contract of the utility’s mobile network. Ericsson previously performed monitoring and maintenance, and now adds performance reporting, front and back-office handling, field operations, and third-party product management. Con Edison is a subsidiary of Consolidated Edison, Inc. (NYSE: ED), an investor-owned public utility with a US$16 billion market cap and 13,255 employees. Con Edison serves 3.3 million electric and 1.1 million gas customers in New York City and Westchester County and has its own 34-cell site iDEN cellular network. Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) is a leading global telecommunications infrastructure vendor with a US$41 billion market cap.
