Is Microsoft Spending Wisely?


For many years now there has been much concern voiced about Microsoft’s long-term strategy. The declining PC market, limited opportunities in the gaming market, and now some increased concern over its presence in the car have acted to create more concerns. The looming purchase of Nokia’s handset business does nothing to allay these fears, and if anything, it exacerbates them. Microsoft should be focusing less on creating systems and solutions that touch the consumer directly, and should be migrating more of its spending up the stack.
