Orange France and BT in the United Kingdom Join Comcast with EST


Orange (in France) and BT (in the United Kingdom) have joined the “buy to keep” fray; Comcast and Verizon in the United States are also notable operators offering similar services (XFINITY TV Store and Flex View, respectively). Orange has deals with ten partners, including Disney, Warner Bros., HBO, Gaumont, and France Télévisions Distribution. BT announced its service in February 2014 with launch agreements with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. In related news, the BBC Trust also approved changes for a new BBC store, where consumers will have the opportunity to purchase content from iPlayer.
