What Is Google’s Project Tango?


Technologies are helping people with education, training, and access to new information by giving them a view into the world around them through their computing and mobile device displays. Interacting with these displays has been limited historically to where the screens are placed. As we become increasingly reliant on the mobile device, mapping the details of our surroundings creates new opportunities for applications and use cases. In support of this direction, Google has announced Project Tango, a developer-only program (currently) to give mobile devices, “a human-scale understanding of space and motion.”
