Ericsson Buys Azuki Systems and Arqiva Buys Capablue


Two video acquisitions were announced on February 6, 2014: Ericsson’s purchase of Massachusetts-based Azuki Systems and the United Kingdom-based Arqiva’s purchase of local interactive specialist Capablue.

Azuki has a headend system that helps facilitate the syndication of multiscreen content. In addition to some cable and programming customers, Azuki’s system had already been integrated with a few Microsoft Mediaroom customers, including CenturyLink. Ericsson’s purchase of Azuki helps fill in some gaps around content management, workflow, and synchronization that went significantly beyond the capabilities of the Mediaroom platform.
