Liberty Global to Acquire Dutch Cable Operator Ziggo


Liberty Global and Ziggo recently announced that the two companies have made an agreement concerning Liberty Global’s acquisition of Ziggo for US$13.7 billion. Liberty Global, which already owns over 28% of Ziggo, has been talking with Ziggo about the acquisition since last year. While the deal has yet to be approved by shareholders and the Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets, Liberty Global expects to close the transaction in 2H 2014. According to Liberty Global, the merged company will continue operations under the name Ziggo.
