New Vendor, New Chipset: Quintic and Bluetooth Smart


Fabless wireless chipset specialist Quintic has launched a new product line to sit alongside its previously sole FM transceiver line. The new chip, dubbed the 9020, is a Bluetooth Smart CPU and RF radio that it is launching squarely at the wearable wireless device space. The launch and the company’s approach mark a new level of maturity in the development of the wearable device market.

Quintic Targets Lower Power Consumption


Quinti’s core business is FM transceivers. It ships around 100 million a year with the primary destination within mobile handsets and handsets sold in the Chinese market in particular. They are also included in FM adapters from vendors such as Griffin and Belkin. Quintic launched its FM chipset in late 2006. However...
