Omnitracs Makes Its First Acquisition

In late November, Omnitracs announced that it was acquiring Roadnet Technologies, its first acquisition since being sold by Qualcomm to the private equity firm Vista Equity.

Roadnet Technologies is a provider of fleet management solutions for private fleets offered in the United States and internationally, which includes routing, scheduling, optimization, and mobile resource management software solutions. Based in Baltimore, Maryland, the company has more than 3,400 customers, and its solutions are installed in more than 250,000 vehicles.

Roadnet will become a subsidiary of Omnitracs, and the transaction is expected to be completed before the end of December 2013. In the same announcement, it was confirmed that the purchase of Omnitracs by Vista Equity from Qualcomm had been officially completed.
