Wearable Computing Devices: Smart Glasses


We are currently witnessing the dawning of the wearable computing device revolution. Mobile computing devices are (bar the phablet trend) becoming smaller, more intuitive, and natural. The concept of wearable technology is not a new one; basic sports and activity trackers have been around for decades. The current “hot” wearable device, the smart watch, as a product concept, has been around for some time. Microsoft actually released its SPOT smart watch in 2004 but this has since been discontinued. Nevertheless, the smart watch category has begun to make significant traction, and device shipments are projected to start to take off over the next 6 to 12 months as we see a host of new vendors entering the market.
