European Telco Firms Push Back Against EU Proposal


On Sunday, October 13, 2013, Reuters reported that “Telecom firms urge EU to reconsider plan to overhaul sector,” which may quite likely have unintended consequences. Among the many goals put forward by the European Commission are a price cap on cross-border calls and an end to roaming fees. The leading operators are pushing back and seeking more consolidation in the sector. In 1976, Bruce Henderson of the Boston Consulting Group developed the Rule of Three and Four to describe stable and competitive markets.
