New Research to Quantify the Computerization of the Job Market


In case you missed it, Oxford University researchers Carl Frey and Michael Osborne published a study in September that has been discussed quite widely in the media over the past couple of weeks. The study, titled “The Future of Employment: How Susceptible Are Jobs to Computerisation?”, aims to quantify how extensively a number of occupations—702 in total—could be replaced by computer-driven technologies. It is a good read, and I would recommend anyone interested to take a look at it (PDF) when having an idle moment.
