Denmark Plans to Install Smart Meters in Every Home by 2020


The Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Building proposed to pass an executive order requiring energy companies to install smart meters in every home by 2020. On the other hand, the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology report commissioned by Ernst & Young rejected the mandatory smart meter installation requirement set by the EU in its cost-benefit analysis.
