Target Launches Target Ticket


Target joined the increasingly crowded OTT market with its Target Ticket video service, which competes with other brick-and-mortar retailers Best Buy (CinemaNow) and Walmart (Vudu), offering similar video services. Over 30,000 movies and TV shows are currently offered with similar pricing models to other transactional video on demand/electronic sell-through (TVOD/EST) services. One unique feature is that Target credit card holders receive a 5% discount. Target, however, is focusing on families and has partnered with Common Sense Media to offer consumers a more detailed and comprehensive rating system, including: Positive Messages, Positive Role Models, Violence, Sex, Language, Consumerism, Drinking, Drugs, and Smoking (all based on a 5 point system for each category).
