The Enterprise Has Lost Reliable and Integrated Mobile Management Options

BlackBerry’s latest quarterly release shows that the beleaguered enterprise smartphone champion cannot make BB10 into a consumer-focused powerhouse. Meanwhile, Microsoft is facing the same problem, making its Windows Phone platform the third ecosystem, and has purchased Nokia, another company that has lost its consumer following. With the decline of BlackBerry, businesses are left with no clear options for mobile device management or enterprise mobility management (MDM/EMM) solution that is directly integrated with a larger mobile device OEM. While companies such as MobileIron, AirWatch, Citrix, and Good are doing their best to provide the MDM/EMM services that enterprises need, they all are at the whims of the rapidly changing mobile device landscape, and have little or no control over the technology paths of the devices they seek to manage.
