IBC Showed Next-generation Satellite Architectures
Satellite operators SES (based in Luxembourg) and Eutelsat (based in France) serve most direct-to-home (DTH) satellite platforms within Europe, the Middle East/Africa, and, to a lesser extent, Asia-Pacific. Both companies support national free-to-air (FTA) platforms and premium bundles, as well as stand-alone pay DTH operations. Both directly operate platforms, ensuring their technical credentials in end-to-end implementations. SES is directly involved in the operation of Germany’s HD+ platform, while Eutelsat directly contributes to the Fransat platform and the German B2B platform KabelKiosk, which serves smaller cable operators.
