Motorola RAZR i Debuts Intel Inside

If the ARM vs. Intel battle does not move beyond a back and forth battle over power consumption vs. processing power, both companies (and licensees) will find themselves in an expensive and never ending battle. ABI Research believes that the RAZR i, released 9 months after Intel merged four divisions into one Mobile and Communications Group, will represent the first true test of Intel’s ability to succeed in the smartphone market. We believe that while Intel could capture as much as 15% of the smartphone market by 2016, it will have to look to its role in the supply chain and its business models if it wants to be more than an ARM alternative.
