3D Mobile Gaining Traction

The first quarter of 2011 was a good one for mobile 3D devices. The long-anticipated Nintendo 3DS was released in January for Japan, and then in March for Europe and North America. In mid-March, LG and HTC both announced 3D smartphones at CTIA. And in late March, Samsung announced its $15 million investment in MasterImage, a provider of 3D technology. MasterImage technology has enabled glasses-free 3D viewing on mobile devices.
