Back in October 2012, the WiMAX Forum announced that it had extended WiMAX Advanced (or WiMAX 2.0 based on IEEE 802.16m) to include support for multiple radio access technologies. The announcement was purposely technologically vague and it essentially stated that WiMAX Advanced networks could coexist with other 3G and 4G technologies.
