Imagination Technologies announced it intended to acquire part of MIPS Technologies. In the past, CPUs had a clearly defined market: PCs used x86; MIPS was used in the home; and mobile devices used ARM. Imagination plus MIPS can bring a greater number of complete solutions to mobile solutions, the home, and emerging application areas.
