Samsung's Galaxy Camera - Mobile Royalties to Consider
Product Insight
Samsung’s Galaxy Camera is a smartphone without the voice and with better camera parts: better optics and a motor that allow for a 21x zoom and a 16 megapixel sensor. Once a CE device like a camera is built on a popular mobile OS, all the familiar applications for sharing and storing the content created by the device are just there (whether included or easily downloadable) – Facebook, YouTube, DropBox, etc. Samsung has developed much of its own software on top of Android for its smartphones; there will certainly be issues that can come up around Android-related patents.
