Developers on iOS do not have access to Wi-Fi RSSI APIs, which means that pretty much no current handset-based Wi-Fi indoor location technology will work on iOS devices. Currently a host of indoor mapping and location companies are working on proprietary solutions to this problem. It appears that most are now shifting to a hybrid approach that will combine technologies and handset and infrastructure based solutions.
