Full Steam Ahead: Tablet Predictions for 2H 2012
Market Insight
- Published 24 Aug 2012 by Jeff Orr
We believe that 1H’2012 tablet shipments represent between 38-42% of the year’s volume, which is significantly higher than the past couple of years (20% in 2010; 32% in 2011). The tablet upside in 2012 is not coming from Apple. Even if Apple chooses to introduce the rumored iPad mini, the market momentum is favoring something “different.” The potential market disruptions are coming from the iPad’s competition, namely Google and Microsoft.
