Samsung Releases a "Tweener" Device
Product Insight
- Published 16 Sep 2011 by Michael Morgan
At the IFA tech conference in Berlin, Samsung announced the Samsung Note, a device with a 5.3 inch display and a built-in stylus called the S pen. The device is powered by a dual core 1.4 GHz processor and features an eight MP rear camera, a two MP front facing camera, 16/32 GB internal storage, a huge 2,500 mAh battery, and quad band GSM and HSPA+ cellular connectivity. Samsung states that the Note strikes the perfect balance between smartphone portability and media tablet viewing. The device runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), although there is some mixed messaging: Samsung is initially calling this device a smartphone or even a super smartphone.
