iPad Gets Cable Programming from Time Warner and Cablevision
Product Insight
Time Warner Cable launched a Live Streaming iPad TV App (TWCable TV) in mid-March with 30+ channels and has already swapped out a number of channels from “multiscreen-better-earn-me-more-money” networks Viacom, Fox, and Discovery, replacing them with “focus-on-eyeballs-and-legal-uses” networks including Disney/ABC and News Corporation (CNN), despite the fact the service is only offered in the home. Time Warner swapped out some channels after being served cease-and-desist orders from programmers.
